Smith Lake’s most anticipated on-water summer event!
The Poor Man Poker Run is one of our beloved annual fundraising activities held on the waters of Lewis Smith Lake. Participants navigate to designated boat docks around the lake to collect poker cards. A complete poker hand, consisting of a minimum of five cards, is played against fellow competitors, with prizes awarded during the after-party.
The funds raised from this special event go towards acquiring deep-water search and recovery equipment, along with training and readiness initiatives. Originally known as the Mike Beasley Memorial Poker Run, we have embraced this event for the future with the support of the Beasley family. Currently, it stands as Alabama Lakewide Charities’ largest annual fundraiser, advancing our mission.
